Professional Development Courses: Making the Most (FOC08)

I am constantly wondering how to get the most out of online and offline Professional Development (PD)courses. One of the ways is to engage in the discussions and learn from others. Another way is to research google scholar and access the University of Phoenix library for peer reviewed articles in order to learn about current research studies on professional development and instruction and learning. I have also been involved in Moodle sites such KnowPlace (free weekend courses) and SCoPE. I am particularly found of the courses Sylvia Currie has been providing at SCoPE (free courses). Nancy Randall is currently facilitating a course on SCoPE called Developing a Professional Development Collaboratory. Although the course started on August 18 the discussions and wiki will most likely facilitate the learning process.
